Elsa, Ariel, and Rapunzel are all in Disneyland. And ACTUALLY, they also exist in the same universe.

Let’s begin with some geography. Frozen’s kingdom of Arendelle takes place in Norway, King Triton’s underwater kingdom is in Denmark, and Tangled’s Corona is Germany.

Frozen begins with a delightful expository earworm, “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” Don’t be fooled by the delicate sweetness in the lyrics. Anna and Elsa’s parents actually DIE while they are singing the song. And how did they die? Well, if you were taking notes, their ship sunk… Where could the ship have logically sunk during their tumultuous journey? If we analyze the tides and geography, the answer is Denmark. Specifically, IN The Little Mermaid.
This means two things:
1. Our timeline is beginning to develop. Chronologically, Frozen occurs long enough before the Little Mermaid for the sunken ship to rot.

2. The universes are beginning to connect.
The seaweed is always greener when you forget about the devastation. Ariel and Flounder narrowly escape death-by-shark in the very spot where Anna and Elsa’s parents met their untimely demise.
When considering the timeline, we can be certain that Frozen and Tangled are within both the same universe AND chronological era because Tangled’s Rapunzel is LITERALLY IN FROZEN. Rapunzel and Flynn are spotted crashing Elsa’s coronation!

Oh yeah, Cinderella is there too.
During a Reddit AMA, the author/director Jennifer Lee confirmed that Elsa’s parents were on their way to a wedding when their ship sank… Actually, the wedding of Rapunzel and Flynn. That’s actually why they decided to pay Elsa a visit during her coronation three years later. Tangled was released in 2010. You know what happened three years later? FROZEN!
