How about you host a gosh darn SNL video without an entire blog analyzing the cultural significance of JOKES. THEY'RE JOKES. When you take the time to put together a 3000 word analysis explaining just what this skit says about our society, you're saying much more about our society. Just let a goddamn joke be a joke. When you take the time to pick apart a joke, what you're really doing is forcing the comedy writers to anticipate this. When the writers anticipate judgement, they will NEVER tell the joke they wanted. The real joke.
Here we have a perfectly funny, topical, poignant skit. It never aired. If we can't joke about these issues, we will never FIX these issues.
Okay so I realize now how I've become what I hate.. Writing about SNL.. But listen. Bloggers, if you don't stop this, the war on jokes will escalate to home "movie theater" monthly subscriptions to download films such as "27 Dresses to Wear to Obama's Funeral," or "Tony Blair 007."
Now bloggers, shut up. No one cares if you think a JOKE is offensive or naw and leave the comedy to the professionals.
